Happiness Evolutions in GSC

In GSC there is a new type of evolution which requires your Pokemon to be very happy in order to evolve.

These Pokemon and evolutions include:
Chansey to Blissey
Eevee to Espeon (level up during the day time)
Eevee to Umbreon (level up during the night time)
Golbat to Crobat
Pichu to Pikachu
Igglybuff to Jigglypuff
Cleffa to Clefairy
Togepi to Togetic

To increase happiness you can do the following:
-Give your Pokemon haircuts in the underground (every day except Monday)
-Feed your Pokemon vitamins like Carbos, Protein etc.
-Use your Pokemon in imporant battles like Gyms and the Elite Four
-Get your Pokemon groomed by Daisy in Pallet Town between 3-4pm
-Level up your Pokemon
-Walk around with your Pokemon in your party

The following affect happiness negatively, so if you're trying to evolve via happiness, try to avoid these:
-Making your Pokemon faint in battle
-Using bitter medicines like Energy Root, Revival Herb, Energypowder and Heal Powder
-Trading your Pokemon [this resets the Pokemon's happiness]

To check your Pokemon's happiness, visit the woman above the Bike Shop in Goldenrod City. She'll tell you how much your Pokemon likes you. Here's what she can say, in order from least happy, to most happy:
"It doesn't seem to like you at all, it looks mean."
"You should treat it better, it's not used to you."
"It's quite cute." "It's friendly toward you. It looks sort of happy."
"I get the feeling that it really trusts you."
"It looks really happy, it must love you a lot."

Once you get either of the last two sayings, your Pokemon should be happy enough to evolve when you get it up a level.
